The first half of Sunday’s game between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers featured a full dose of chaos. Between slippery field conditions and technological difficulties, it was total mayhem.

It all got started early in the first quarter at the 44-yard-line. Green Bay decided to go for it on 4th-and-2. Head coach Matt LeFleur and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich dialed-up some trickery.

Jordan Love, in the first home start of his NFL career, took the snap and pitched out to running back Emmanuel Wilson. Wilson took a few steps, turned around and threw the ball back to his quarterback.

Love couldn’t hang on at first and scrambled to pick up the loose ball. Although he was able to recover, his back foot slipped out from under him as he went to plant and throw. The pass fell incomplete.

Love’s skid was not the only slippage of the afternoon.

The Saints and Packers were falling all over the field!

Players on both sides were having trouble keeping their feet throughout the entire game. It was like a slip and slide in Wisconsin.

But field conditions were not the only issue! Play was held for about 10 minutes right before halftime.

The skycam was to blame after getting stuck in position over the line of scrimmage. There was no way to continue forward because any attempted pass had a good chance of hitting the camera.

Although it took longer than usual, the first half at Lambeau field was not uneventful! Unfortunately for the home fans, neither the turf conditions nor the skycam helped their team to a win.

The Green Bay Packers went into the locker room at halftime down 17-0.
