Although Harvard did not defeat Yale during the 140th edition of The Game on Saturday, the Crimson claimed a share of the Ivy League title alongside Columbia and Dartmouth. It will now turn its focus to the offseason after playing its final game of the season at the most historic stadium in college football.
Watching large football players disappear into an absurdly small locker room tunnel at Harvard Stadium will never not be funny!
The stadium, located in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, was built in 1903 and later designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1987 as the oldest permanent concrete structure in the United States dedicated to college sports. Its use of reinforced concrete was a pioneering breakthrough in construction at the time.
Due to its status as a landmark, the university will not make any changes to the college football (and soccer!) stadium. How it was built more than 120 years ago is how it will be forever.
That includes the hilariously small locker room tunnel. The “door” is way too small. Players have to crouch down whenever they want to enter the field of play or head back into the locker room, every single time. They look like they are entering through a portal to a different dimension.
Harvard Stadium's design (1903) froze what had been debated dimensions of an American football field… it's also so old it requires players to duck as they enter the tunnel: #HarvardYale #TheGame pic.twitter.com/9pZB3cF7SV

The unusually small tunnel entrance creates a traffic jam whenever either team enters or exits the field of play. It is never not funny.

Saturday was not the exception to the hilarity. We usually get to see players leaving the field on the television broadcast. Rarely do we get to see it from the other angle, which might be even funnier.

Harvard Stadium is amazing. To play against the Crimson on its home field is an experience that every college football player will never forget. The same can be said for the tunnel!
