The potentially ineligible player is still unknown, as is the tipster who provided the intel. The issue seems to be linked to the player’s home address and whether or not it falls inside the school’s residency limits.
The Dorchester District office provided a statement on the controversy. They deemed the player to be ineligible after an investigation.

The Ashley Ridge high school basketball team has appealed the decision. That appeal will be heard on Thursday.
They’ll hope to hear good news before a Lower State title matchup against Summerville. If the ruling is not overturned, their season will come to an end.
