Switch-Kicking College Punter Buries Opponent For Extremely Dirty Hit With Savage Retort

Idaho College Football Kicker Ricardo Chavez Dirty Hit

Ricardo Chavez serves as both the starting kicker and punter for University of Idaho football. The senior specialist is considered one of the best in the country, certainly on the FCS level.

He is also one of the more unique specialists in college football history. Chavez punts with his left foot and kicks with his right foot!

It was his right foot that was the hero during Saturday’s game against Sacramento State on Saturday. He nailed the game-winning field goal as the clock (almost) expired before the Vandals covered on one of the all-time terrible bad beats for Hornets bettors.

To make Chavez’s kick even more impressive, he nailed it after a minor tweak to the same leg on a dirty hit earlier in the game. Sacramento State wide receiver Tao McClinton came down on his leg during a punt, which left him to limp back over to the sideline.

It appeared as though the dirty play was intentional. McClinton had plenty of time and space to avoid contact with Chavez. Instead, he seemingly went for his leg on purpose.

Chavez took issue with the hit and called out McClinton on social media.

I get it, it’s football and some injuries can’t be prevented, but come on 81?

McClinton responded, which opened the door for Chavez to put him in a body bag.

“Who are you ?” — McClinton

“Do yo homework lol” — Chavez

“but our guy had a higher net than u on sat. So glad u not my punter honestly 🤷‍♂️ so the answer to the hw you was askin about was: soft + irrelevant = whoever tf you are!” — McClinton

“I do both btw lol. & In case u forgot how that game ended, go rewatch that 🤷‍♂️ U looking goofy on here talking bout another person when u listed as a “wr” with no receptions. 🤭 glad you ain’t my receiver.” — Chavez

McClinton did not respond from there. There was nothing more to be said because he got torched both on the field and off.

Chavez, the switch-footed specialist, finished Sacramento State with a dagger for Idaho on Saturday. He did the very same to McClinton on Sunday.
