Los Angeles Lakers majority owner and President Jeanie Buss just announced her engagement to actor/comedian Jay Mohr.

If you haven’t heard the name ‘Jay Mohr’ in a few decades, you’re not alone. He was a semi-prevalent actor in the late 90s and early 00s and was on Saturday Night Live from 1993-1995 alongside Chris Farley, Chris Rock, and other titans of comedy.

After the mid-2000s, Jay Mohr appeared in a few roles like The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013). But for the past few years he’s been hosting Jay Mohr Sports, a mid-day sport radio show on Fox Sports Radio.

TMZ Sports confirmed Jeanie Buss’ engagement to Jay Mohr as it came as a surprise to many:

Jeanie Buss just added another ring to her collection — the Los Angeles Lakers owner is engaged to Jay Mohr!! TMZ Sports has confirmed … the couple of several years recently took their relationship to the next level after the comedian got on one knee and proposed. We’re told Buss and Mohr — who bonded over sports and comedy — are ecstatic about how their love has developed over time … and they’re excited to spend the rest of their lives together.

The clues were there — Jeanie has been spotted wearing a ring on that finger recently … and sources close to the couple confirmed they are, in fact, engaged. We broke the story — Jeanie and Jay started “quietly” dating back in 2017 … and the two frequently attended Laker games together.

Jeanie Buss hasn’t flashed an engagement ring on Instagram yet but she has shared pictures of them as a couple in the past:

This was Jay Mohr’s last post on Instagram. It features their matching The Incredibles Halloween costumes:

After TMZ Sports confirmed their engagement, Twitter had some thoughts:

Jay Mohr has previously been married twice. Jeanie Buss was married for 3 years in the 1990s and later engaged to Phil Jackson for 4 years but they never tied the knot.
