Five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is ready to make an instant impact for the Ohio State football team. He was the headliner of the Buckeyes’ most recent signing class, but you wouldn’t know he was a first-year player if you watched on during their opening spring practice session.

The pass catcher looked Goliathan in his offseason debut, appearing to make some major weightroom gains after his arrival to campus this past January. Will Smith see the field early for OSU next year?

Based on size, alone, many are saying YES!

Of course, his talent will play a large role, too. That skill was on full display throughout his high school career, helping him land the honor of being the No. 1 prospect in last year’s recruiting cycle.

Though the Buckeyes had to hold off a late push from instate suitors Florida and Miami, Smith stuck with his commitment and enrolled early in Columbus.

Ryan Day was relieved.

Less than two months on campus and the wideout is already making headlines!

Ohio State opened spring practice on Tuesday, and Smith instantly went viral.

Followers couldn’t help but to comment on his build, looking like a player that’s been in the program for years.

“Looks like a junior.”

“My man is going to play WR and DE.”

“These kids built different, man.”

“That’s no freshman. That’s a man with a 30-year mortgage and a pension plan. Excited to see him on the field.”

Smith’s Ohio State athletics bio lists him at 6-3, 200 pounds. He looked every bit of that and more this week!

Fans got their first glimpse of Jeremiah Smith in action.

He got a chance to catch some passes in his first on-field action as a Buckeye, getting fans excited for Year 1.

This back shoulder grab is a sight Ohio State football fans can certainly get used to over the next three seasons.

Already displaying leadership and a desire to better himself on the field, Smith put in a few extra reps on the jugs machine alongside Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka after practice.

Jeremiah Smith looks like a force to be reckoned with at the start of spring practice. It should be fun to follow his freshman progression this football season.
