Jim Harbaugh is not interested in discussing the Los Angeles Chargers. The 60-year-old head football coach at the University of Michigan is currently in the City of Angels for the Rose Bowl.

Meanwhile, the newest professional football team in Southern California’s largest metropolis is beginning its search for a new coach. Harbaugh has been linked to the NFL pretty much every single year since he and the 49ers mutually agreed to part ways in 2014.

It has been a constant question: will Jim Harbaugh leave the Wolverines for a return to the pros?

If he is every going to make that move, this year feels like the year. Especially after his answer on Wednesday.

Harbaugh spoke to reporters ahead of the CFP Semifinal shortly after a parade at Disneyland. He danced around any discussion about the NFL with a lot of “ums” during a lengthy filibuster.

The Chargers are reportedly kicking the tires on Harbaugh. Harbaugh played two years with the organization while it was still in San Diego. His interest is piqued!

There is still a long way to go before anything becomes official. However, it feels as though Harbaugh to Los Angeles is trending toward, at the very least, an interview in coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Michigan is trying to lock down the coach that has led its team to three-straight College Football Playoff appearances. It has offered Harbaugh a massive deal to stay put, with a catch. The contract reportedly includes a clause that would not allow him to flirt with NFL jobs in the upcoming offseason, if not longer.

Harbaugh has not put a pen to paper, which indicates his hesitance toward an agreement that would keep him from entertaining the Chargers. As did his next-level “coach speak” at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Football coaches often suppress similar conversations about other job opportunities. They often give substance-less answers about things they don’t want to talk about. They frequently fluff up their discussions about topics that aren’t related to the game in front of them.

Harbaugh may have given the most non-answer of all-time.
