The Michigan Wolverines have captured the College Football Playoff Championship following a season of controversy, turmoil, and dominance. Now, Jim Harbaugh is fulfilling a promise he made to his players to get a tattoo if they had a perfect season.

That’s exactly what happened, as Michigan went 15-0 this year, despite not having Jim Harbaugh for six games due to suspensions related to alleged NCAA infractions.

Here’s what Jim Harbaugh had to say about the tattoo after the game.

“I said I would get a tattoo. I have no ink on my body. No tattoos anywhere, but I did say that to our players. I said if we go 15-0, I’m getting a tattoo, it’s 15-0. I’m going to put it on my shoulder. I don’t know if it’s my left or right yet. I’m a right-handed quarterback, I’ll probably get it on my right. And then an M, too, an M that’s maize & blue M. Also that signifies a thousand in Roman numerals” he said.

Michigan beat Washington, 34-13, in Monday night’s championship game in Houston in a truly weird game. The Wolverines jumped out to a quick 14-3 lead and looked likely to go up 21-3 heading into the second quarter.

But, Washington, who had been run all over in the first quarter, found some resilience and got the game back to 17-10 at halftime. After the team’s exchanged field goals early in the third quarter, Washington had multiple chances to tie the game. They couldn’t, and the Wolverines pulled away with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

This could be the last game Jim Harbaugh coaches at his Alma Mater, as NFL rumors are heating up for Harbaugh and seem to have some teeth to them this time around. If it is, he went out on top.
