Jim Harbaugh made headlines for an off-the-field act this week. The Michigan head coach was seen acting as a good Samaritan during what was an unpleasant time for many in Ann Arbor.

The state was hit by an ice storm which left over 800K homes and businesses without power. The conditions caused schools to be cancelled, travel to be delayed, and accidents to occur on the roadways.

That storm also caused trees and debris to clog Ann Arbor streets, one of which Jim Harbaugh happened to be driving on Wednesday evening. In the recent released body cam footage of a local police officer, the head coach is seen lending a helping hand.

Harbaugh hopped out of his car and jumped into action after seeing a tree blocking the road. He then helped the officer move the fallen tree in order to free up a path for traffic.

The clip made its way to social media, resulting in a fantastic reaction from viewers.

Here’s the post from the Ann Arbor Police Twitter page.

The policeman didn’t realize who was helping him out at first. In subsequent tweets, the account details that he soon found out it was Jim Harbaugh.

Awesome scene.

Fans were quick to post their commentary upon seeing the video.

One person asked, “How can you not like this guy?”

Another exclaimed, “Protect Jim Harbaugh at all costs!”

This person hilariously added the Home Depot theme song over the clip for that finishing touch.

The Michigan Wolverines are happy to have that “valued member of the community” in Ann Arbor after the head coach flirted with NFL jobs over the offseason.

When all was said and done, though, he opted to remain with the program.

That’s good news for a Michigan team looking to land its third consecutive Big Ten title and make back-to-back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances.

In his eight seasons with the Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh has posted a 74-25 record. That includes going 15-3 over the last two campaigns. Fans are hoping the success continues in 2023.
