Jim Nantz appeared to throw a slight jab at the LIV Golf Tour on Sunday during his coverage of the Masters. The legendary announcer was heard seemingly trolling the league and its media rights deal with the CW.

Fans took note of the on-air quip and quickly posted responses online.

Nantz called the Masters tournament over the weekend, watching Jon Rahm try on his first Green Jacket when all was said and done. Rahm was paired with golf star Brooks Koepka on the final day as the two battled it out at the top of the leaderboard.

While Koepka was walking the course during his last round, Jim Nantz took a shot at the newly formed LIV Tour.

LIV has become the PGA’s top competitor, nabbing a number of talented players from the Tour. Those stars include Dustin Johnson, Cam Smith, Phil Mickelson, and the aforementioned Koepka.

Koepka joined LIV back in June of 2021 despite his initial criticism of previous PGA defectors. It’s also been reported that he could be having a bit of buyer’s remorse and that he’s seeking out his options of returning to the Tour.

While he might be eyeing that return, Jim Nantz didn’t hold back his jab at the LIV golfer on Sunday. He took aim at the recently signed media rights agreement between the league and the CW.

Fans were quick to comment on social media.
