Training camp is officially here as another regular season of NFL football is right around the corner.

However, for the San Francisco 49ers, all eyes are on Nick Bosa’s contract situation, as he has been absent all offseason.

Now, it sounds like general manager John Lynch has something to say about it.

According to Nick Shook of NFL.com, Lynch was asked about Bosa not being present at the 49ers camp. He was quick to claim he’s not happy about the situation. But simultaneously, he understands why the star pass rusher is holding out.

“I don’t like not having one of our best players here. We’ve got a really good track record that I’m proud of as a group of having our players in. But I also understand it and understand that we’re going to have to exhibit some patience and understand that ultimately this thing will work out. I’m very confident in that and we’re just going to have to have that right mix of urgency and patience.”

It would be shocking if John Lynch and Nick Bosa can’t eventually reach an agreement. Bosa is arguably the best player on the 49ers and they need him to remain competitive.

Additionally, this is kind of new territory for San Francisco. It’s not like Lynch to let contract negotiations drag into August.

Ideally, a deal is reached soon. John Lynch knows it’s important to ensure Nick Bosa shows up to training camp at some point to prepare for the upcoming season, per Shook.

“I don’t know what’s that right time period, we’ve talked a lot about it internally, but I think that’s important to give yourself the best chance to not only play at the highest level, but to stay healthy and get yourself primed and ready, calloused to play.”

With that said, John Lynch and the 49ers will likely be hounded by media members until a deal is reached.
