Jordan Spieth, like many at Oakmont Country Club over the weekend, struggled with consistency throughout the US Open. His up and down tournament led to frustrations on a challenging course.
The PGA Tour star did what many others would’ve had they been in his shoes. He drowned his sorrows at the local watering hole.
Spieth entered the major event with hopes of winning the second US Open of his career. He set himself up to make a run after shooting even on Day 1.
Unfortunately, things slipped from then on. The 31-year-old was +8 over the remainder of the weekend. He eventually finished in a tie for 23rd place on the leaderboard.
Spieth spoke on the course difficulty prior to the tournament’s start. “This course is built to be like this… If you don’t hit the right shot, you’re in big trouble. It’s pure golf… No funny business about it.” The golfer experienced it firsthand.

Jordan Spieth shot +5 on Friday and +1 on Saturday before finishing up with a +2 in a weather impacted final round. He chose to forget the performance at the place he felt best – Buffalo Wild Wings.
“I was waiting on the Schefflers to get done, but he was after the [rain] delay, so I went to Buffalo Wild Wings,” he said this week while gearing up for the Travelers Championship in Connecticut.
“I didn’t exactly eat or drink the way I normally do there… Sometimes post-US Open, I just need to throw a few back. By yesterday, I was good. I’m still young enough where that doesn’t really bother me the next day.”

Spieth decided to get blitzed after struggling at the US Open. He really is one of us!
With that performance now flushed, the golfer can look ahead to the Travelers Championship. Jordan Spieth is searching for his first PGA Tour win since the 2021-22 season. He’s posted two Top 5 finishes this year, and last won the Travelers Championship in 2017.
