Jordy Frahm did not finish her college softball career how she had hoped. That did not stop the Nebraska star from showing the utmost class in defeat.
She took the time after the game to sign autographs for every fan who asked.
One of the most decorated careers in college softball history came to an end in Oklahoma City. Frahm went out with her head held high in defeat and took the opportunity to use her platform for good.
Jordy Frahm is an all-time great.
Nebraska played Texas in an elimination game at the Women’s College World Series on Sunday. The Cornhuskers once again went with their ace, Frahm, in the circle. She was dominant… until she wasn’t.
Frahm was working on a perfect game through five and one third innings when it all came apart. The Longhorns scored three runs on back-to-back singles and a home run in the bottom of the sixth. They ultimately held on to win 3-1. It was a bummer end to Nebraska’s first appearance in the Women’s College World Series since 2013, and the illustrious five-year career of the Oklahoma transfer.
Although she was emotional, Jordy Frahm still spoke with the media after the game. Her postgame press conference was a testament to her character. It was eloquently spoken.
"It really hurts right now but just so thankful for the journey and to finish it here with this team"

Head coach Rhonda Revelle spoke about the impact Frahm had on the team, the university and the community over the last three seasons. She touched every player on the team. She was the heartbeat of the program. The Cornhuskers are in a better place because of her.

Of course, that does not include Frahm’s lengthy list of accomplishments as a player. There are very few players who are more decorated.
College softball is in a better place because of her.
Nobody would’ve blamed Jordy Frahm if she wanted to get on the team bus and go home after the loss. It was a crushing defeat on the biggest stage in college softball. Her career is over. Emotions were raw.
And yet, the 23-year-old still took the time to sign and/or take a photo with every person who asked.

Frahm stayed for more than 20 minutes.
It is a testament to who she is. Say what you will about her decision to leave Norman for Lincoln, but you cannot say that she didn’t leave the sport in a better place than where she found it. Jordy Frahm is one of the best players in college softball history and a tremendous person.
