After a rocky start to his life with the New York Mets, Juan Soto has looked like his likely future Hall of Fame self in June, as the 26-year-old has been on absolute fire.

While the New York Mets have suffered their first real adversity of the season, going 2-9 in their last 11 games, Soto has undeniably been a bright spot, as he’s getting on base regularly and mashing home runs almost as often.

On Wednesday night against the Atlanta Braves, Juan Soto hit his 18th and 19th home runs of the season, which makes in the team leader in that category. Soto’s tear across the month of June has also been historic, too, as he’s become the first Met in history to have 10 HR, 20 R and 20 BB in a calendar month.

Quick aside: I caught the Mets’ game in Philadelphia in Saturday night. Before beating the Braves on Wednesday, that was their lone win in their past 10 games. So that was sick. But that’s not why I mention it.

I mention it because, in that game, that Mets his 7 individual home runs, tied for the second most of all-time. Two of them were from Juan Soto. And this dude just hits home runs different than everyone else.

Where as most home runs look like a quarterback connecting on an arching vertical down the sideline, Soto’s look like 40-yard rope-lasers down the seams — they just have a different power to them.
