Kansas will host a college baseball Super Regional for the first time in program history. Are you prepared to Crank The Hog?!
The university likely needs to rethink its stadium arrangement before the weekend to avoid any potential unruly behavior between the two fanbases.
A new video from the regional shows an Arkansas fan throw a drink at the student section. Law enforcement had to step in on multiple occasions during the three-game college baseball series.

This is only the seventh time in program history that the Jayhawks played in the NCAA Tournament. They made a regional in 1993, 1994, 2006, 2009, 2014, 2025— and now 2026. This was the first time they earned the right to host, as Big 12 regular season and tournament champions. Hoglund Ballpark, which better known as The Hog, was absolutely rocking.

Kansas set multiple attendance records over the weekend. It felt like an SEC environment.
The student section was especially rowdy.

However, its positioning created some problems.
The Hog is not a large stadium, even compared to other teams in the same regional. There isn’t a lot of room. The student section ended up sitting on top of the Razorbacks’ dugout next to the visiting parent section. It got testy in a hurry.

The students were not particularly welcoming to the out-of-towners or their traditions.

You really can’t ask for a better environment. This is what college baseball should look like. Unfortunately, there are always going to be a few bad apples in every bunch. That applies to both sides of the aisle.

That obviously cannot happen. Police had to get in the middle on more than one occasion.
How is Kansas going to set up its college baseball stadium for the Super Regional?
After seeing how the Hog was cranked last weekend, the administration has a decision to make. Where is it going to put the students? What about the visiting parents? Oklahoma is going to travel. It is guaranteed 600 tickets.
I would be surprised if the Jayhawks put the student section next to the visitors for the second week in a row. We saw how that went the first time. You can’t have flying beers. You can’t have police intervention.

I would imagine that Kansas doesn’t want to move its student section from where it has always been. But that would mean that it is right next to the visitors for the second week in a row because Sooners fans are probably going to sit behind their own dugout.
Game 1 is scheduled for Friday afternoon. The Hog will be cranked. But how? We’ll see…
