This bro was out kayak fishing at Lake Fausse Point State Park in St. Martinville, Louisiana and thought that he’d landed a catfish on one of the lines he’d set out. He’d hooked up his lines (think ‘traps’ for catfish) to a funnoodle, the popular foam pool toy, and when he went to pull in that noodle he found the last thing in the world that he’d ever expected to see:
That dude almost pooped in his cargo pants when he pulled up that gator. The fear in his eyes was very, very real. And if you’re wondering what would make an alligator that big so lethargic and easy to pull up the answer’s pretty simple: it was cold as hell throughout the Southeast last weekend, and those water temperatures would’ve made the alligators lazy as hell.
Just imagine being that dude in this moment:
I’d have probably had a heart attack right there on the spot. While I’ve never been attacked by an alligator I’ve certainly been hissed at by them, and come waaayyyyy too close for contact with some humongous gators. Growing up in Florida it’s just a part of life, being close to alligators, but if I were to come that close to jaws that large I’d have lost my marbles right there on the spot.
