It’s officially time to get hype for baseball! Not because the MLB playoffs are around the corner, but because East Bound and Down is officially BACK… Kind of. That’s right, speculation is that HBO is bringing back everyone’s favorite pitcher, Kenny Powers. Thankfully, Danny McBride would be reprising his role.

Danny McBride Returns As Kenny Powers For One More Season

The East Bound and Down Twitter account dropped a trailer Tuesday morning. There were no warnings or hints at the show’s return. Instead, we woke up this morning to some of the best news possible as Kenny Powers returns for at least one more season of the show. However, the trailer was just as unexpectedly removed. Interestingly enough, the tweet is still up and running.

If the show actually returns for a Season 5, then the only bad news is that we have to wait until 2024 to watch Danny McBride back in action. Even so, we can’t be any more thrilled with this potential announcement. The last time East Bound and Down aired was back in 2013. It was originally thought that the story had come to an end after the stars of the show declined HBO’s wishes of continuing past season four, per Deadline.

Unfortunately, with the trailer being removed, it’s caused speculation that this new season could be fake. HBO has been completely silent about the whole thing. Even so, they did tweet this on Tuesday as well around the same time the trailer dropped.

We’ll have to wait and see if a final season actually returns. It’d be just over a decade after the show originally ended. We should expect the same hilarious quotes that only Danny McBride can deliver. It’s currently unknown how many of the original cast members would return.
