Scoring a triple-double in a basketball game is certainly no small feat, but that has nothing on the quintuple-double a high school player in New York was able to post earlier this season.

If you’re a basketball fan, you’re probably aware hitting double-digits in a particular stat category is the unofficial threshold for an impressive showing on the hardwood.

A double-double is certainly nothing to scoff at, but if you want to earn a reputation as a well-rounded player, you’re going to want to walk away with a triple-double (which usually comes in the form of a game where you post at least 10 points, assists, and rebounds).

It’s also possible to record a quadruple-double by throwing an inordinate amount of steals or blocks into the mix, but that’s a pretty rare accomplishment when you consider there are only four players in NBA history who can brag about that feat (although it’s worth noting the league didn’t start tracking those two stats until 1973, as Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain would likely be members of that exclusive club).

It’s widely believed Chamberlain is the only player who can brag about a quintuple-double in an NBA game, as a statistician who was working a contest on March 18, 1968 asserted the legendary big man racked up 53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 steals, and a staggering 24 blocks over the course of the contest.

It’s slightly easier to achieve a quintuple-double at the high school level, but it’s still a pretty absurd accomplishment—and one that Kieonna Christmas, a senior at Fonda-Fultonville High School in upstate New York, was able to achieve with the help of 11 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals, and 10 blocks.

Christmas secured the quintuple-double during her team’s 55-50 win on December 13, 2023, but highlights from the game only surfaced this week.

I guess you could say Christmas came early for Christmas, who MaxPreps says is just the 13th high school player in history to record a quintuple-double.
