Kirk Cousins was spotted sitting amongst the crowd at Target Field during the Twins’ playoff win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The Vikings quarterback got a chance to watch the home team book a ticket to the ALDS following a shutout win.

Rather than purchase club or suite tickets, the passer took in the game like your typical Minnesota baseball supporter. His appearance has quickly gone viral.

The Twins took down the Blue Jays for a second time in as many days on Wednesday to advance to the American League Divisional Series. They’ll soon face the Houston Astros in hopes of keeping their 2023 season alive.

The playoff series win was the franchise’s first in two decades, last advancing to the ALCS in 2002. It also represented the first time Minnesota’s clinched a postseason series at home since 1991.

In the most recent victory, pitching dominated.

Six Twins pitchers combined to throw a shutout with starter Sonny Gray leading the way. Over his five innings of work, the righty struck out six Toronto hitters to pick up the win.

Jhoan Duran closed things out in the final inning to record the save, K-ing three of the four batters he faced. A celebration ensued shortly after.

Kirk Cousins was in the stands to take in the historic win, looking like your average fan with his wife and kids.

While we wouldn’t call them the “cheap seats” by any means, he appeared to be sitting down near the field as opposed to a private box. Whether that was to better enjoy the atmosphere and action on the field, or it’s just who he is, the appearance at Target Field quickly went viral.

Twins fans were quick to react to the Kirk Cousins sighting, posting reactions online.

“Love that he’s in a random 100 section. Not in a club level or a suite. He probably parked 5 minutes further away from the ballpark to save a few bucks on parking too.”

“Instead of being in a suite, Kirk is out on the front lines. True leader.”

“A man of the people.”

“Dude’s sitting in economy.”

Based on the photo, it looks like he’s sitting in the 100 level of Target Field down the third base line. To give an idea of pricing, those tickets are starting at $150 a pop for the upcoming series with Houston.

Again, not cheap, but certainly well within the passer’s budget.

Cousins has embraced “Kohl’s Kirk” persona, often looking like your average suburban dad during game and media appearances. He certainly fit that mold on Wednesday in Minneapolis, only adding to his “everyday guy” image.
