Arizona Cardinals fans can relax, at least for now, as it sounds like the beef between Kyler Murray and the Cardinals has been squashed.

Murray started the drama himself in early February when he scrubbed all Cardinals references from his Instagram. He also unfollowed the team’s official account on Instagram and Twitter.

Four days later, the Cardinals made a move of their own on Instagram. They deleted all but two photos on their page, with the only two left being photos of Murray.

Since the social media back-and-forth, Murray addressed the “nonsense” being thrown out there in the media.

Kyler Murray Contract Rumors

While you could argue deleting social media posts isn’t real drama, we’re living in the year 2022, social media actions should be taken seriously. However, everything seems to have worked itself out in Arizona.

“I’ve circled back with the Cardinals and this thing has buffed itself out,” NFL.com’s Jane Slater reported. “In other words, everyone is on the same page and the goal here is to move forward. Now, he’s on the third year of his rookie contract and my understanding is that they’re working towards either exercising that fifth-year option or getting him a long-term deal like we saw with the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen.”

Amid the social media spat, most connected the dots and figured that this had something to do with Murray’s contract situation. Murray is going to be looking for a big-time contract, one similar to Josh Allen’s as Slater notes.

Murray may get a six-year deal worth upwards of $260 million like Allen or get a fifth-year option. Only time will tell.
