Just when we thought the 2024 United States Presidential election couldn’t get any weirder, Los Angeles Lakers’ owner Johnny Buss says, “Hold my beer.”

On Wednesday, 67-year-old Johnny Buss, the vice president of strategic development for the Lakers, announced that he will be officially running for President of the United States.

Is he serious? It’s a legitimate question. Johnny Buss does own the Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena so he could be trolling everyone.

The timing of his announcement also comes just a little over a day after it was revealed that Aaron Rodgers was approached by Robert Kennedy Jr. to be his running mate.

The Presidential campaign website Johnny Buss has put together seems pretty legit though.

“I envision an America that leads with compassion, innovation, and most of all integrity,” Johnny Buss writes on the site. “An America where racial equity is not just an ideal, but a lived reality for every citizen. Where our policies reflect our commitment to the planet, and where education opens doors to futures bright with promise.”

His main platforms are listed as…

• Rebuilding Global Leadership, Building a More Equitable and Just America
• Empowering Our Future: A Comprehensive Approach to Education Reform
• A Sustainable Future: Our Commitment to a Clean Environment
• A Fair and Compassionate Path Forward: Reforming America’s Immigration System
• Health for All: Ensuring Access to Affordable and Quality Healthcare
• A United Stand Against Human Trafficking: Strengthening Protection, Prevention, and Prosecution
• Empowering Financial Success: Advancing Financial Literacy for All Americans

Lofty goals, indeed.

“As a presidential candidate, Johnny Buss stands as a beacon of hope and progress, ready to lead with the same heart, vision, and dedication that has defined his extraordinary journey,” his website states.

Reactions the news of Johnny Buss running for President seemed to take on a couple of specific themes.

ONE…

“He’s the oldest boy,” someone else commented.

TWO…

“Can’t even run a franchise, so I’m supposed to think he can run a country?” another fan asked.

“Foo can’t even run the Lakers…he ain’t running the country,” read another comment.

This is by far the worst timeline ever.
