Lane Kiffin loves a good workout just as much as he loves to win. The 50-year-old college football coach at Ole Miss often challenges his players to try something different, beyond what they are used to.
Their latest exploits took them to Power Movement Pilates to get yelled at by Lane’s daughter Landry.
Kiffin, entering his sixth college football season at the University of Mississippi, recently purchased and/or bought stake in a pilates studio in Oxford. Well, Taylor. I think. Admittedly, I don’t know all of the details nor do they matter.
If I had to guess, Landry told Lane about the pilates boom and suggested a lack of studios in town. Lane saw an investment opportunity. Maybe Layla is involved with day-to-day operations now that she’s also in the Sip? I digress.
Regardless of the situation, the head coach often promotes Power Movement on social media. So he at very least knows the owners if he is not an owner himself.
He even teaches class on Friday mornings during the offseason!
Not only does Lane Kiffin frequent the studio, his eldest child is one of the full-time instructors. She is a veteran when it comes to the reformer.
The same cannot be said for the Rebels. They recently joined their head coach for a workout at Power Movement. It was not easy but Lane and his guys powered through.
The only person who did not seem to struggle even a little bit is 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver Cayden Lee. His low center of gravity must help him during pilates like it does on the field. Keep an eye out for a big year from the rising junior!
I cannot speak from experience but pilates looks impossible for anyone of size. If Ole Miss football players are gritting it out on the reformer, it must be brutal.
