Scottie Pippen’s Ex-Wife Larsa Wants You To Know That Scottie Actually Earned More Money Than MJ During His Playing Days

One of the highlights of the first two episodes of ESPN’s erection-inducing The Last Dance doc was the unpacking of Scottie Pippen’s laughable contract to enter the league.

Scottie signed what many consider to be the worst contract in the history of the NBA when in 1991 he inked a seven-year contract worth $18 million. Pippen grew up in a small Arkansas town with a father who was disabled from a stroke and a brother who was paralyzed in a wrestling accident, so a guaranteed payday was a priority, but sheesh.

One of the best small forwards of all-time was the 122nd highest-paid player in the league at one point, and MJ (who was making $33 million in ’97-’98) had the gall to call Pippen “selfish” for trying to renegotiate his contract by milking his injury as a bargaining chip.

Pippen’s former wife, Larsa, has come to her ex’s defense in the matter (which is a bit surprising given their tumultuous recent history), and wants you to know that Scottie is doing just fine financially.

Career Earnings: $109,192,430

Scottie Pippen will be remembered for playing the Robin to Jordan’s Batman, but No. 33 actually pulled in almost $20 million more than MJ did during his playing days.

Please don’t shed tears for Scottie.

Scottie’s going to be just fine.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
