Aaron Rodgers’ conspiracy theorizing ways may have led the 40-year-old New York Jets quarterback to bite off a bit more than he can chew.

Earlier this week, Rodgers made his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show and used the time to, among other things, accuse Jimmy Kimmel of being an associate of Jeffrey Epstein and suggest that the NFL is rigged.

Mere hours after Rodgers’ slanderous comments, Kimmel took to Twitter to threaten legal action against him.

“For the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court,” Kimmel wrote on Twitter, tagging Rodgers.

Now that the “Epstein list” has been made public, one lawyer is suggesting that Rodgers “retain counsel”, as his team did not find a single mention of Kimmel’s name in the 943 pages of documents.

Ronald Richards, who has 43,000 followers on Twitter, is a lawyer in Los Angeles and Washington D.C. and previously worked as a legal analyst for NBC News, is the one who passed on the advice to Rodgers.

While Kimmel’s name was not found on the “Epstein list”, people such as Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, David Copperfield, and Prince Andrew were.

On Wednesday, the execs at ESPN clearly told Pat McAfee to get out there and issue a statement as the highly-paid radio host not only opened his show with a statement about the incident but also put his big boy sleeves on for the day.

“There can be something that was meant to be a s— talk joke, that can then become something that is a very serious allegation, that then leads to a massive overnight story… I can see exactly why Jimmy Kimmel felt the way he felt, especially with his position. But I think Aaron was just trying to talk s—,” McAfee attempted to explain.

At this time, neither ESPN nor Rodgers has made a public comment following Kimmel’s threat of litigation.
