On Sunday, LeBron James (sort of) made his Lakers debut when he rolled up to a Summer League game in Las Vegas to watch his new teammates take on the Pistons from his courtside seats because LeBron James has earned the right to not have to play in Summer League games. The ever-vigilant Rob Perez posted up by the tunnel to capture James making his grand entrance where The King rocked a pair of shorts featuring the Lakers logo emblazoned on the crotch.

Given LeBron’s history of wearing slightly unconventional shorts, his choice of attire wasn’t exactly surprising, but there was one thing that was: the price tag. The internet quickly tracked down the origin of the shorts, which were manufactured by Just Don and made for anyone who can afford to drop $500 on a pair of basketball shorts.
It appears that there are plenty of people out there who are willing to do just that, as the shorts sold out almost immediately after pictures started to circulate online.

James seemed to have a pretty good time while at the game, but as SB Nation notes, things got slightly awkward after the Cleveland Cavalier up for their game, which was scheduled after the Lakers-Pistons matchup. He and Ty Lue seemed to both be in pretty good spirits based on photos of the two chatting with each other but James quickly bounced as soon as his former teammates started to trickle out of the locker room.

You can call him a coward all you want but I can’t say I blame him.
