LPGA Superstar Nelly Korda Is On A Heater That Puts Scottie Scheffler To Shame

Scottie Scheffler is currently playing a level of golf in the men’s game not seen since peak Tiger Woods.

The Masters champion closed out his fourth win in five tournaments on Monday morning at the RBC Heritage Invitational and the only non-victory was a second-place finish at the Houston Open.

But Scheffler is not the hottest player in golf. Instead, that title belongs to LPGA superstar Nelly Korda, who is on the type of heater that would make Scheffler blush.

Korda, like Scheffler, is the No. 1 golfer on the planet at the moment. But unlike Scheffler, she doesn’t lose.

The 25-year-old has entered five full-field events this season. She has won all five.

Korda capped her incredible run (which is still technically in progress) with a victory at The Chevron Championship on Sunday, which was the first major of the LPGA season.

It was the second, but likely not the last, major championship victory of her career.

But even those numbers don’t quite full express Korda’s dominance this season. So we’ll present you with even more.

Korda averages 3.60 strokes gained on the field PER ROUND during the five-win stretch. She’s hitting over 75 percent of greens in regulation. She’s a jaw-dropping 46-under on Par 5s and has a scoring average of 68.7 in that time.

Those are not just dominant numbers, they are absolutely ludicrous.

How does she do? Well, it hasn’t been easy.

“Last week I was so tired,” Korda said last Tuesday. “I don’t think I’ve ever been that tired. I would wake up and I was ready to go back to bed but I couldn’t. It’s almost to the point where you just can’t sleep, you’re just overly tired.”

Korda didn’t play the week before the Chevron. And apparently the time off paid dividends.

Korda’s steady ball-striking saw her slowly but surely separate from the field at the Chevron before closing out the victory.

But there’s no rest for the weary.

She’s set to compete in this week’s JM Eagle LA Championship, where a victory would break the record for most consecutive wins in LPGA Tour history.
