Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have had a bit of a tough time out of the gate in the 2022-23 NBA season,

After reaching the Western Conference Finals as a dark horse a year ago, the Mavericks have yet to find their footing and are just 14-14 in the early going. But Doncic has continued to be a workhorse for coach Jason Kidd. The preseason NBA MVP favorite is averaging 33 points, 8.7 assists and 8.4 rebounds per game.

That hasn’t helped the Mavs, however, who have had a bit of a mare thus far. Dallas has even turned to Kemba Walker, who many believed had been put out to pasture, to try and help turn things around. But Walker struggled to hit his stride in his lone appearance against the Bulls.

Now it appears Dallas is hoping a little holiday cheer can help it turn the corner.

Luka Doncic Gifts Custom Jordan Luka 1 Horseshoes To Teammate Dorian Finney-Smith

Mavericks starting forward Dorian Finney-Smith had a breakout season a year ago. Finney-Smith averaged a career-high 11 points per game on a career-high 39.5 percent shooting from deep.

This year, Finney-Smith is shooting just 33.1 percent from beyond the arc and averaging 8.4 points per game. But despite adding to his stable in the offseason, Finney-Smith can’t be accused of horsing around.

That’s why Doncic appears to still have a good relationship with his teammate. So good, even, that he bought him an absolutely incredible holiday gift.

Finney-Smith, a self-professed animal lover, purchased a two-year-old horse named Stevie in the offseason. So when the holiday season rolled around, Doncic had the perfect gift.

The superstar gave Finney-Smith a custom pair of Jordan Luka 1 sneakers. But they weren’t sneakers for Finney-Smith, they were sneakers for Stevie.

The company Horse Kicks creates the sneakers for $1,200 per pair (or is it a set?). It’s clear from the video that Stevie is digging his new kicks. Who knows, maybe this sparks the Mavs moving forward and they prove the neigh sayers wrong…
