Ever since his monster sophomore campaign in 2022, Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has been considered the best wide receiver prospect in a loaded 2024 NFL Draft class at wide receiver.

But, LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers has been making up ground on Harrison, and is now getting buzz that he’s the better player.

I’m sure many of you are caught off guard reading that. After all, MHJR, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, has had unreal and nearly unprecedented hype for a wide receiver for over a year now. It’s not without merit, either.

Despite sharing targets with a bunch of NFL-caliber players, Harrison had 144 caches for 2477 yards and 28 touchdowns his last two years in Columbus. There’s nothing he can’t do as a prospect, and he has the NFL pedigree and character to boot.

Despite all of that, Malik Nabers seems to have a ton of buzz around him right now as a guy that teams have ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. At his LSU Pro Day on Wednesday, Nabers ran what some are reporting was as low as a 4.35 40-yard dash, much faster than was expected.

That time, plus some other incredible Pro Day feats, is giving Nabers all sorts of buzz as we are now under a month away from the NFL Draft.

After a 1000-yard season as a sophomore in Baton Rogue, Nabers went nuclear in 2023. He had 89 catches for 1569 yards and 14 touchdowns while catching passes from Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels. The numbers are great, but watching him play shows a guy with insane movement skills and fluidity.

Coupled with Washington WR Rome Odunze, Harrison Jr. and Nabers form an incredible three-headed monster. Don’t be too surprised if Nabers becomes the first wide receiver off the board on April 25 in Detroit, as it seems to be a case of team preference now instead of Marvin Harrison Jr being the consensus top wideout.
