The Kansas City Chiefs managed to eke out a 30-27 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday despite missing some key players on offense.
The Chiefs began the game already in the hole with wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., who is on injured reserve due to an abdominal issue. Then, during the game, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffered a high ankle sprain and new wideout Kadarius Toney tweaked a hamstring.
Things were certainly not looking good for Kansas City when the Chargers took a 27-23 lead with under two minutes remaining in the game.
The stress was almost more than a Chiefs fan could handle.
Hardman, who was watching the game at home, was so frustrated when the Chargers took the lead that he tweeted out that he destroyed his TV when he threw his remote at it.
At least that’s what websites and news outlets like KSHB-TV in Kansas City, TMZ, and numerous others, including NFL.com, reported after seeing his tweets.
Update I threw the remote at the TV! Now I gotta go get a new TV 🤦🏾♂️ https://t.co/laUehn5TIh

There’s just one problem with Hardman’s claim of breaking his TV during the Chiefs game. The image he used as evidence when he tweeted, “Just in case y’all thought I was lying I really did break my tv,” was fake.
Mecole Hardman Jr. got busted by the internet for fake claiming he broke his TV
If you do a very quick search on YouTube for “broken TV screen” the exact same thing as the image that he posted comes up right at the top.
The internet, as it always does, discovered the truth and called out Hardman for either lying or trying to troll people about breaking his TV.

“No way this dude really faked his TV being broke by using the first video on YouTube,” laughed another fan.

“BRO CAPPING SO HARD LMFAOOOO,” tweeted another.
Is it a requirement to be a liar, dirty, or annoying AF to be a Chief? #billsmafia https://t.co/mRP67F3xWY

“Comments caught him in 4k,” someone else tweeted with a laugh.
