Washington Huskies QB Michael Penix shared his thoughts on whether college football players should receive a portion of the TV revenue.

In an appearance on the ‘RG3 and The Ones’ podcast with host Robert Griffin III, Penix supported the notion when asked by RGIII: “Do you think players should get a piece of the pie of the TV money?”

Penix said: “As much money as players can get, I’m all for it. Just understanding what we go through each and every day, you know the offseason grind. That’s a lot we put into it year-round.”

Penix continued: “So as far as the TV money, I really don’t have no judge in it, but as much money as the players can get, you know, based on what they deserve, what people truly from their heart feel like and understand they deserve.”

It’s noteworthy that a prominent active starting QB in college football like Michael Penix is advocating for players getting a share of the TV revenue.

Penix has been having a stellar season, guiding his team to a perfect 6-0 record so far while throwing for 20 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions.

His impressive 72.1 percent pass completion and a quarterback rating of 189.9 solidify his status as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation.

While college players have recently begun profiting from Name, Image, and Likeness deals, a slice of the TV revenue could mark a significant game-changer for them.
