A rough week or the Michigan Wolverines’ football program just keeps getting worse.

On Saturday, the team fell to the TCU Horned Frogs in a major upset in the College Football Playoff.

That game saw them make a number of mistakes that proved costly in the close loss, including a pair of pick-sixes and a fumble at the goal line.

Now their program has been hit with some more bad news.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Austin Meek, Michigan’s football program has been under investigation by the NCAA and are expecting a Notice of Allegations this week.

According to the report, the infractions Michigan is being investigated for are relatively minor, but their response to the infractions is also under investigation.

The timing of the report is interesting as John Harbaugh’s future with the program has recently become the topic of speculation.

Harbaugh has been linked to a few NFL jobs since the Wolverines’ season came to an end over the weekend. It is the second year in a row that Harbaugh has been rumored to be looking to leave the college ranks to take an NFL job.

His comments about potentially leaving the team haven’t exactly convinced fans that he will still be staying with the team.

With this investigation now looming, it looks like it’s at least a possibility that Harbaugh takes a page out of Pete Carroll’s playbook and leave the team while they’re dealing with the fallout of an NCAA investigation.

Whatever happens with this investigation, it will be interesting to see how the NCAA chooses to punish one of college football’s biggest programs.
