Game 5 of the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians takes place on Tuesday after the longest rain delay of all time. This MLB playoff matchup will come to a close soon and nobody is happier about that than Mike Francesa. Not because he doesn’t want to watch the contest, but because he’s absolutely sick and tired of listening to Bob Costas.

Mike Francesa Rips Bob Costas During Yankees-Guardians Series

According to Sports Illustrated, Mike Francesa let loose how he truly feels about Bob Costas. The man just wants to watch the Yankees game and is clearly done with hearing Costas on the mic. “Costas, who will not be quiet no matter what. He thinks I guess that every word is golden because he just will not shut up. Everything’s a history lesson. We don’t need a history lesson every two seconds! Everybody’s a Yankees fan. They understand Yankees history. They know it backwards and forwards. This is not a history class. It’s a baseball game. Be quiet! Do the game!”

With the Yankees going into a Game 5 matchup with the Guardians, it sounds like Mike Francesa has to live with at least one more game of hearing Bob Costas announcing the Yankees. With the game taking place later on Tuesday, Francesa delivers a plea to Costas ahead of the contest, per Sports Illustrated.

“Let it breathe, Bob, please. You’ve squeezed this thing for all its life. It’s almost like Bob has been locked away somewhere, dying to talk, and now you can’t shut him up, because he just has not stopped talking for a second in the Yankees series. Not even a little has he stopped talking. About everything! No matter what it is, he just never stops. Please, let the dramatic Game 5 breathe a little bit.”

Tune into Game 5 at 4:07 P.M. on Tuesday, Oct. 18. It’s a winner take all situation, as whoever succeeds advances to the next round of the MLB playoffs.
