In case you need further proof that the simulation we inhabit has totally malfunctioned, it appears that 53-year-old legendary boxer Mike Tyson is on the verge of a comeback. Not only does Tyson seem to be prepared to get back into the ring, but according to combat sports aficionado Joe Rogan, Iron Mike looks “terrifying”.

The fight game has obviously changed a ton since Tyson was late in the ring, as UFC is now the preeminent combat sport, passing boxing in popularity long ago.

However, while UFC may be more popular these days, it doesn’t mean that boxing is extinct entirely, as even UFC’s biggest star — Conor McGregor — crossed over to cut a boxing check back in back in August of 2017.

As we all know, McGregor eventually lost that fight to Floyd Mayweather, at least according to the judges. Because if you ask Iron Mike Tyson, McGregor was the real winner of the bout.

“McGregor went 10 rounds, scored punches on one of the greatest fighters in the last hundred years,” Tyson said on his Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast.

That’s a bad motherf***er. First fight, 10 rounds with the champ; the best champ of the last 50 years or something like that. Psssht. That’s the winner of the fight.”

The Notorious was obviously appreciative of Tyson’s compliment, as he hopped on Twitter to not only show his appreciation to the legendary boxer, but to claim that he’ll defeat Mayweather the next time the pair square off.

“Thank you Mike, and just know that for the inevitable rematch, with the knowledge I now hold of Floyd’s style, plus under the tutelage of my old school boxing coach, I will crack the puzzle and I will beat Floyd. I promise my life on it. It is great to see you back, Iron Mike.”

With McGregor slated to return to the UFC’s Octagon at some point this year, it’s unclear if and when this proposed rematch with Mayweather will happen. Considering how much money the pair made off the first fight, it’s hard to imagine that they wouldn’t want to go at it again.
