Mike Vrabel Puts The NFL On Notice By Throwing Powerful Haymakers During OTAs

People forget that Mike Vrabel is not that far removed from his playing days. The head coach of the Tennessee Titans retired from the NFL in 2010 and is only 46 years old.

And he’s in fantastic shape.

As a 14-year defensive end in the league, Vrabel stood 6-foot-4, 261 pounds at his peak and is not too far off from that weight today. He is a big dude.

Tennessee’s Organized Team Activities began earlier this week and the players aren’t the only ones putting in the work. Vrabel has always been a hands-on coach and is consistently active during practices demonstrating pass rush moves or running sprints before a game.

He also is no stranger to the weight room, as Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan shared on Wednesday morning. In a video posted to twitter, his head coach was putting the NFL on notice while throwing some huge punches on a heavy bag.

Vrabel’s footwork could use some improvement, but he is throwing some solid punches. Opposing coaches and officials better be careful on what they say or do, otherwise they might get a back-alley beating on their way out of Nissan Stadium!

The Titans will continue OTAs through June 9 before returning for mandatory minicamp on June 14. Training camp will begin in late July. Although Vrabel probably didn’t love Lewan sharing that video with the world, we can only hope that we get more!
