Milwaukee Bucks Reportedly Exploring Trade Options For Noted Tripper And Ted Cruz Lookalike Grayson Allen

Milwaukee Bucks guard Grayson Allen is most well-known for a few things that he’d probably rather not be associated with. For one, he has (or had) a bad habit of making extremely dangerous plays that endanger his opponents. Then, he also bears a striking resemblance to both US Senator Ted Cruz, whom people don’t seem to like, as well as the infamous zodiac killer.

But what gets lost in all of those discussions is that Allen has actually turned himself into a pretty serviceable NBA player. The Utah Jazz selected Allen with the 21st pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He then played one season for Utah before being traded to Memphis.  He was then traded again in Aug. of 2021 to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Allen has averaged double figures in scoring each of the last three seasons. This year, he’s averaging 10.8 points per game in 26.8 minutes and shooting a career-high 42.6 percent from deep. He’s helped Milwaukee to a league-best 10-1 start. But it appears that’s not enough for the team to want to keep him around.

Milwaukee Bucks Exploring Trade Options For Grayson Allen

Jake Fisher of Yahoo Sports reported Friday morning that the Bucks were looking into the possibility of upgrading from Allen.

Fisher goes on to state that Milwaukee may well use Allen to acquire disgruntled Phoenix Suns wing Jae Crowder. But the team has also inquired about other potential moves involving Allen.

The Bucks’ interest in Crowder is well known, and Milwaukee has called numerous teams about Grayson Allen’s trade prospects, sources said. Salary-wise, the two wings do fit a direct one-for-one swap, sending Crowder to the new home he desires, and yielding Phoenix the rotation piece its seeking in return for Crowder.

Crowder has yet to play for the Suns this season after expressing unhappiness with his role in the offseason. But an injury to Cam Johnson could yet see him re-enter the fold in Phoenix.
