NBA star Miles Bridges wants a judge to order his ex-girlfriend, Mychelle Johnson, to undergo a “comprehensive psychological evaluation.” The Charlotte Hornets forward claims she has become obsessed with him.
In a court filing, Miles Bridges claims that Johnson, with whom he shares four children, cyberstalks him and “initiates prolonged, emotionally charged communications during late-night and early-morning hours.” Bridges also alleges Johnson has developed what he calls an “obsessive fixation” with his new girlfriend.
A Mecklenburg County judge placed Mychelle Johnson under a temporary restraining order on April 14. Bridges asked for the restraining order after he claimed Johnson showed up at a game on March 21, Bridges’ birthday, and tampered with his car’s tires while he was playing for the Charlotte Hornets.
Bridges has also claimed that Johnson once pretended to be a different woman and “fabricated a paternity claim to manipulate” his attorney into setting up a paternity test, then shared the communication on Instagram.
Miles Bridges’ ex-girlfriend denies the accusations
The Charlotte Observer reported on Wednesday that Johnson denied the allegations in a court filing, with her attorney writing, “These allegations are false, without merit, without proof, made up and are designed by the Father and his attorney to harass the Mother with continual multiple frivolous pleadings they know she does not have resources to continue to defend.”
Because of the restraining order, Johnson cannot contact Bridges or his girlfriend, come within 500 feet of any place Bridges works, including the Spectrum Center or “any practice facility or team facility of the Charlotte Hornets.” She must also not visit any hotel where the Hornets are staying. She currently faces no criminal charges.
TMZ reports that Miles Bridges has also asked a judge to order his Johnson to submit to a “comprehensive psychological evaluation.” He claims she has failed to prioritize the children’s needs over her own personal grievances and has threatened to disseminate “intimate information” about him. He is also seeking sole custody of their four children.
Bridges and Johnson have reportedly been involved in a legal fight since at least 2018. In 2022, Bridges entered a no-contest plea to a felony domestic violence charge related to an incident involving Johnson. She claimed Bridges choked her, breaking her nose and giving her a concussion.
In addition, Bridges faced additional domestic abuse charges related to a different incident. However, prosecutors dropped those charges, stating that they would “not be successful at trial.”
