This year’s NCAA Tournament has been completely unpredictable.

We’ve seen defending national champion Baylor bow out early. Kentucky, Auburn, and Tennessee are also gone after being bounced by double digit seeds.

There are a couple of blue bloods still remaining, but this year’s field belongs to the underdogs.

Four teams seeded 10th or higher still remain in the field. That includes Saint Peter’s, who’s gone on a miraculous run by taking down Kentucky and Murray State. It’s the program’s first Sweet Sixteen appearance, ever.

Also alive is Iowa State, who won just two games last year. After going winless in conference play last season, the Cyclones find themselves playing into the second weekend of March Madness. It’s the greatest single-season turnaround in college basketball history.

With the unexpected results on the court, there are officially zero perfect brackets remaining on major sports sites.

However, there was one lucky bettor that went a perfect 8-0 on the weekend’s final day of action. They successfully picked the correct outcomes in each of Sunday’s contests to turn $25 into a $1,700 payday.

Not only did the bettor choose the correct favorites to land wins, but they also picked both of the major upsets.

Miami took down the two-seed Auburn to advance to the Final Four, while Iowa State upset No. 3 Wisconsin. Those two programs will face off next week with a chance to move on to the Elite Eight.

There were certainly some scares, though.

Arizona needed overtime to take down TCU. Kansas outlasted Creighton to eke out a late win. Texas Tech used a 10-1 run in the final two minutes to take down Notre Dame. And Duke held off a late Michigan State rally to keep Coach K’s final season alive.

When all was said and done, though, the wager paid off. We’ll see if this bettor can continue this success next weekend.
