During the FOX broadcast, NFL insider Jay Glazer disclosed that five NFL teams had attempted to trade for San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa.

The NFL teams reaching out did it during contract negotiations between the 49ers and Bosa when he was holding out, prompting speculation among some teams that the situation might not have a favorable resolution.

However, Nick Bosa and the 49ers reached an historic agreement instead. Bosa signed a record-breaking deal, making him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, with a 5-year, $170 million contract.

With the contract now settled, Bosa is expected to make his return to the field in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He should be playing around 30-40 snaps during the game, according to Glazer.

In addition to securing Bosa’s future with the team, the 49ers also recently restructured the contract of another defensive lineman, Arik Armstead. The restructuring generated $11.78 million in additional salary cap space for the team.

The San Francisco 49ers now find themselves in an enviable position within the NFL. They boast $41.5 million in available cap space, leading the league and surpassing all 32 teams
