Nick Foles Is Humbly Asking Eagles Fans Not To Boo Him When He Returns To Philly Which Surely Won’t Backfire At All

Super Bowl champion Nick Foles has taken over as quarterback of the Chicago Bears after he was traded on the last day of March for a compensatory fourth-round 2020 NFL Draft pick. He’s had a relatively strange journey since he was named Super Bowl LII MVP and won the city of Philadelphia that Super Bowl they’d been craving for decades.

Foles has had not one but TWO stints with the Eagles. In between that time he played for the Rams and the Chiefs. Last season he was with Jacksonville on a four-year contract worth $88 million ($50.1 million guaranteed) before breaking his clavicle and undergoing surgery. He eventually lost his starting job to Gardner Minshew and Foles is now in Chicago. You know the story, right?

Foles spoke with NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark this week about the complete roller coaster he’s been on recently and Foles touched on his eventual return to the city of Philadelphia. The Bears aren’t scheduled to visit Philly this season but it could happen in the playoffs.

In preparation of his eventual return to the City of Brotherly Love, Foles is humbly requesting Eagles fans to not boo him too loudly. If I was him I would’ve requested they boo at the top of their lungs and left it up to them. But by requesting them to not boo him he’s all but assured that Eagles fans will boo him into submission, all game, every time he shows up, despite him being a legend in the city of Philadelphia who can do no wrong. Here’s what he had to say about the eventual return to Philly:

That would be wild. That would be wild, and especially, you know – you obviously want home field advantage. But I know when the day happens – and I’m glad it wasn’t this last year – that I do step back into the Linc, it will be extremely emotional. I’m not going to lie, I’m not going to sit here and say that it won’t be. People ask me where my favorite place to play was, and I say there’s nothing like playing a night game at the Linc, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.

But like I said, Philadelphia is very special. And I’m not afraid of saying that, even though I’m playing in Chicago.

If I do ever come back and play in Philly, please don’t boo me too much. I still love y’all.

Nick Foles should and will drink for free in the great city of Philadelphia forever. He brought them a Super Bowl. He walks on water within that city limits. But he’s taunting them here. Why even mention the boos? Just say you can’t wait to get back to that city one day and play in front of those great fans and move on. Now he’s goaded them into booing him forever.
