When O.J. Simpson talks, people listen. Not because he has interesting thoughts or ideas or anything, but because more often than not whatever is coming out of his mouth could be labeled as absurd.
Well, absurdity was the theme of his recent interview with The Athletic.
Among the many takeaways from the interview, two moments stood out. Simpson referred to the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald “Ron” Goldman as “the L.A. thing.” He then went on to say that he “has trouble with L.A.” because I might be sitting next to whoever did it. I really don’t know who did this.”
Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya, heard about Simpson’s comments about not knowing who killed her sister and suggested they may prove that he is delusional.
Tanya explained to TMZ that all there is to do is to look at the DNA evidence from the murders, which shows the only blood at the crime scene belonged to Nicole, Ron, and O.J. She believes O.J. killer Nicole and Ron and suggested that Simpson has been feeding himself these lies for so many years he may believe them now.
“Tanya adds at this point in her life, she has forgiven O.J. for what he did and actually pities him. However, she says when he continues to talk about it, it’s simply disrespectful to their family and Ron’s … and she wishes he’d let it go too.”
Simpson was released from prison in 2017 after being sentenced to nine years for armed robbery and kidnapping. He told The Athletic that he lives “a good life” now filled with golf and taking plenty of photos with fans.
