Many college football fans were left aghast at the decision to leave Florida State out of the College Football Playoffs on Sunday. OJ Simpson, a player on the 1967 national champion USC Trojans, was not among them, however.

The Seminoles went undefeated (13-0) and won the ACC Championship game, yet they were skipped over by the CFP selection committee for two teams with losses Texas and Alabama (both 12-1).

So it will be the champions of the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12 and Pac-12 who be facing off for this year’s college football national championship while Florida State will have to settle for the Orange Bowl and a game against the 12-1 Georgia Bulldogs.

“Florida State is a different team than it was the first 11 weeks,” CFP selection committee chairman Boo Corrigan told ESPN. “As you look at who they are as a team right now, without Jordan Travis, without the offensive dynamic he brings, they are a different team and the committee voted Alabama four and Florida State five.”

OJ Simpson, a man well known for a being a fan of committees making a terrible decision, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I think they got it right!”

“Hey Twitter world, it’s me, yours truly,” Juice began his latest video. (Of course, he’s still calling it Twitter.)

“Boy, there’s been some interesting football the last couple of days,” he said before dropping some criticism of Geno Smith’s pocket passing skills.

“Well, college made their choices,” Simpson continued. “Pretty much the way I thought.

“I knew Michigan and Washington would be in. I thought Texas was a cinch to be in.

“It would have been hard, as great as Georgia’s been over the last few years, it would have been hard to put them in front of Alabama, who just beat ’em.”

Juice then said he had someone tell him that the SEC is tougher than the ACC, to which he had a response.

“I said, ‘Well, normally that’s right. But you do this year the ACC had a 6-4 record against the them?’ So, you couldn’t argue that. This team went undefeated in that conference.

“I’m sure the only reason Florida State didn’t get in is that they lost their quarterback.”

So there you go. Case closed.

As always, many of The Juice’s fans offered up their thoughts on Simpson’s latest opinion piece.

“Yet another crazy weekend,” one person commented. “Juice, what would you say the craziest weekend of your life was?”

“Cutting edge opinion. Always sharp AF when it comes to this. Keep up the good work, killer,” read another comment.

“The CFP is very cutthroat,” another viewer wrote.
