Popular golf influencer Paige Spiranac demonstrates (as only she can) how to hit the “scariest” short game shots in the game in celebration of, as she puts it, “spooky season.”

Paige, who recently released her 2024 calendar and has been sharing photos of herself wearing a different Halloween costume every day in October on her private site, has been on fire putting out content this month.

She’s even giving out exclusive free access to three pieces of content from her site to all of her YouTube subscribers.

Which is one big reason Spiranac is back on her YouTube channel for the first time in a couple of weeks with another new instructional video.

“I know so many people have a fear, a literal fear over some of these short game shots so I’m going to make it as simple and easy as possible,” Paige explains at the beginning of the video.

“The first scary shot is a chip shot, pitch shot off of a tight lie,” Spiranac begins. “Any time an amateur sees a tight lie they tighten up and they got really nervous.”

She then goes on to explain her technique and a drill golfers can use to try and get over that fear. Spiranac also explains that hitting a pitch shot off a tight lie actually has less things that can go wrong versus a chip shot from the rough.

“The next scary shot is one out of the rough when you are on a downhill lie and the green is running away from. You can’t putt this one and that’s why a lot of people struggle with this,” Paige continued.

Spiranac then demonstrated “a really simple shot once you get the hang of it.”

“I see so many people trying to do so much and it really is, get in the right setup, and then from here, pop it,” she explains. “It’s all about having the correct setup.”

“The next scary shot is when you’re in the rough, you have a short side pin, and you can’t just let it run on up there because you have something in the way,” Paige continued.

She says that her technique for this shot is just a variation of her flop shot technique and her bunker technique and the one she just explained.

And finally, “The last scary shot I want to talk about is when you have a dramatic uphill shot,” she says.

Spiranac goes on to show how to properly hit the shot and how, once you know what you’re doing, you become more confident and then these short game golf shots suddenly aren’t so scary.
