Pat McAfee Leaves College GameDay Desk In Stitches After Rece Davis Almost Dropped N-Word

LANK College GameDay Pat McAfee Milroe N-Word

Pat McAfee and the rest of the College GameDay desk (if not the entire world) was largely unaware of the “true” meaning behind Jalen Milroe’s ‘LANK’ motto. They were in shambles on Monday morning after sitting on the edge of their seat as Rece Davis almost dropped the N-word.

Before we continue, let’s be very clear— Davis did not almost say a racial slur while live on ESPN. That was not the case at all. He does not need to be cancelled. He does not deserve criticism. It’s all good!

However, there was a moment in which the 58-year-old came close. Kind of. Not really. But kind of.

Pat McAfee thought for a moment that Rece Davis was going to let it rip!

Jalen Milroe led Alabama to the College Football Playoff in his first year as the starting quarterback. The haters fuel his mentality. They drive him to keep getting better and prove them wrong by winning.

As we found out last week, Bill O’Brien was one of those haters. The former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator encouraged him to change positions while in Tuscaloosa!

Milroe feeds off of the doubt and wears it on his chest. Literally.

His most prominent NIL merchandise is based around the word ‘LANK.’ It is an acronym that stands for ‘Let A Naysayer Know’ and features the famous script Alabama ‘A.’

Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and Joey Galloway were unaware of the true meaning of LANK. Davis was the one to inform them during the GameDay broadcast live from the Rose Bowl.

Things quickly devolved into some hilarious hi-jinx as he tried to explain what it meant.

McAfee, Howard and Galloway thought that the ‘N’ in ‘LANK’ stood for a very different N-word. They thought that Davis was about to say the non-Naysayer N-word while live on the air.

It led to one of the funniest moments in the legendary pregame show’s history.

Davis was visibly unsure as to what was going at first. And then even he couldn’t hold it together as Kirk Herbstreit started laughing alongside Howard, Galloway and McAfee. They were in stitches!
