No one was really expecting a tight contest when the Timberwolves faced off against the Trail Blazers on Monday night, as Minnesota was listed as 15-point favorites in a game where Portland was essentially taking to the court with a G League squad thanks to a number of injuries that decimated their roster.
The 4-3 lead that the Trail Blazers boasted shortly into the first quarter would also be their last of the game, as the Timberwolves were able to quickly erase that tiny deficit and never looked back while coasting to a 124-81 victory in the Certified Rout in front of the home crowd.
Members of Minnesota’s bench were able to get some quality garbage time minutes while simultaneously treating their starters to some solid rest. However, a few of the guys who took to the court for tipoff still managed to find some ways to keep busy—including Karl-Anthony Towns, who kept the blood pumping by contributing to The Wave that made its way around the Target Center.

That had nothing on what Patrick Beverley decided to do to entertain himself, as Minnesota’s mascot was kind enough to let the guard take control of a t-shirt cannon in the fourth quarter.

It sure looks like Beverley had a…blast.
I’m so sorry. I’ll see myself out.
