Patrick Mahomes Is So Good That He’s Straight Up Bowling For Touchdowns

Patrick Mahomes Underhand Touchdown Throw Clyde Edwards-Helaire

It doesn’t matter how Patrick Mahomes does it, he’s going to score touchdowns.

He makes throws while diving and falling to the ground, often does his best Uncle Rico impression, pump-fakes players out of their shoes, and even makes crazy throws without looking. There has never been a player who can do what Mahomes does how he does it.

The 26-year-old added another bullet to his resume on Sunday and bowled for a touchdown.

Early in the first quarter against the Eagles, the Chiefs faced 1st-and-goal at the half-yard-line. Mahomes took the snap, ran a play-action fake to Clyde Edwards-Helaire and then rolled out to his right.

With all signs pointing toward Travis Kelce as his target on a fade route the right side, No. 15 fooled everybody. He stopped on a dime, turned back towards CEH and fed him a nifty, on-the-money underhand toss for six. It was a perfect spiral, of course.

The Chiefs are off to a slow start in 2021, but when Mahomes is doing sick things like his touchdown to Edwards-Helaire, there is no reason to panic.

It’s when Mahomes is taking a three-step drop and throwing overhand that Kansas City fans should worry. He’s so fun to watch.
