Paul Pierce Is Having A Bad Day Online After Getting Mocked For Very Wrong Celtics Prediction

Welp, the Celtics were who we thought they were.

After a dominant series against the Pacers and a drubbing of the Bucks in the first game of this series, Boston momentarily lulled us into a state of delusion. Many of us allowed ourselves to believe that 82 games of dysfunction and zero cohesion would all be washed away because the stakes were higher. I was guilty of it. After a seemingly flawless game plan to stop Giannis in Game 1, I thought the Celtics were battle-tested and ready for the moment.

I was wrong. But, luckily for me, I didn’t declare a Celtics victory after one game to millions of people. Paul Pierce, a Hall of Famer who its become cool to depreciate, did.

After the Bucks manhandled the Celtics the following four games, Pierce’s comments were thrown back in his face, even by the Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s probably best for the former Celtic not to log online today…

At least former teammate Kendrick Perkins is in Pierce’s corner.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
