Pro Golfer Recruits 16-Year-Old Twitter Follower To Caddy For Him

Pro golfer Steven Bowditch has had a tough couple of years professionally. The 35-year-old Australian has missed the cut in all five Tour events he’s entered in 2018 and just two of 27 cuts in 2017. His struggles come after a solid 2015 season when he won the AT&T Byron Nelson and pocketed $3 million in winnings, Golf.com reports.

Bowditch appears to be keeping a sense of humor in the face of adversity, evident in him recruiting a caddy for the John Deere Classic on Twitter. On Monday night, Bowditch tweeted an open call for any “local kids/college players in the Quad cities area” to fulfill the role. A 16-year-old answered the bell. Check out the exchange below.

Elias seems like serviceable dude, but how do you pass up on the guy below? Sounds like he’s been waiting for this moment his entire life.

In any event, hopefully the unlikely duo hits it off. Or else.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
