The Baltimore Ravens have been actively searching for solutions to bolster their running back corps following the season-ending Achilles injury suffered by starter JK Dobbins in Week 1.

According to report by Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic, the Ravens conducted workouts for several veteran free-agent running backs and ultimately signed one.

The list of running backs who showcased their skills in Ravens’ auditions included former Jacksonville Jaguars James Robinson, former Miami Dolphins Kenyan Drake, and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ronald Jones.

In the wake of Dobbins’ injury, the Ravens have been relying on Gus Edwards, Justice Hill, and Melvin Gordon, however, the Ravens were keen on adding more depth and competition to their running back stable.

The team’s interest extended beyond just free agents, as they also explored the possibility of acquiring Cam Akers from the Los Angeles Rams through a trade.

In the end, the Ravens made a move by signing Kenyan Drake, who previously played for the Ravens, to their practice squad.
