Aaron Rodgers is having an interesting offseason experience this year as he resets ahead of the 2023 campaign. As a way to get his mind right about his NFL future, Rodgers recently entered a darkness retreat.

This retreat is exactly what it sounds like. Complete isolation for four days.

The Green Bay passer explained the experience further in an interview with Pat McAfee earlier this month.

“You’re not locked in — you can leave if you can’t do it. You can just walk out the door. But it’s a darkness retreat. And I’ve had a number of friends who have done it and have had some profound experiences. It’s something that’s been on my radar for a few years now and I felt like it’d be awesome to do regardless of where I was leaning after this season, so it’s been on the calendar for months and months and months.”

Rodgers planned the retreat months ago, prior to any offseason drama, but much like last year, uncertainty surrounds the MVP passer.

He obviously has the option to return to Green Bay, but there have been talks that the Packers could potentially trade their starting signal caller. And the list of interested suitors is a long one.

The Jets gained steam early in the race, while the 49ers and Raiders boasted the best odds of landing the quarterback at one point or another.

And then, there’s always a chance he’ll call it a career altogether and retire.

With all of those options on the table, Rodgers hopes that the darkness retreat will bring clarity on next steps. We’ll soon find out if that’s the case.

The future Hall of Famer is soon expected to return from isolation, which has led many NFL fans to post hilarious reactions online. Take a look at some of the best.

Many believe the Jets could have interest in his return as they were once considered a frontrunner to pull him away from the Packers.

But in the time he’s been away, Derek Carr appears to have surpassed Rodgers in New York’s quarterback pursuit. That might be surprising news to Rodgers upon his exiting the darkness retreat.

Rodgers will return from his trip soon, and fans are definitely eager to see what he has to say about his experience. Hopefully, we’ll soon know more on his future.
