Alabama QB Jalen Milroe is putting in work this offseason! After finishing one game shy of a national championship appearance in his first season as a full-time starter, he’s doing everything in his power to get the Crimson Tide back.

Milroe shined in that debut season, throwing for 23 touchdowns to just six picks while also adding 12 scores on the ground to show off his dual-threat ability.

But with the good came the bad.

The quarterback struggled as a drop-back passer, particularly early in the season, leading to a few hiccups in the Alabama offense.

The Tide was beaten soundly by Texas on their home field before sleepwalking through a victory over South Florida. Nick Saban looked weathered after those first three weeks of the season, much of which was due to the team’s uncertainty at quarterback.

Milroe took the reins in the QB battle when Bama entered SEC play, ripping off 10 straight wins and beating defending champ Georgia in the SEC title game.

Though he showed improvement as the year progressed, his ability as a passer remained under scrutiny.

He’s doing his best to change the narrative ahead of 2024.

A boasted Jalen Milroe flashed an improved throwing motion.

While he was able to complete 65% of his attempts last year, his footwork and mechanics were often criticized.

Even on his top plays, the form seemed a bit off. Take a look at his spectacular game-winning TD pass vs. Auburn in the regular season finale.

While he found his man in the endzone in dramatic fashion, that throwing motion looked quirky. An almost sidearm delivery is seen following the herky-jerky wind-up.

Milroe knows he won’t always have six seconds to sit back against a two-man rush.

He’s been working on a quicker, more fluid release this offseason – which he previewed to followers on social media.

It also appears he’s been spending a lot of time in the weight room.

A video recently surfaced showing an absolutely ripped Jalen Milroe debuting that new form in an offseason training session. Fans were quick to comment.

“Did bro completely change his throwing motion in 2 months??”

“His throw’s got an extra whip to it.”

“Throwing motion already looks better.”

“Motion looks more compact.”

Milroe is ready to lead Alabama in his senior season next fall with hopes of making a return to the playoffs. We’ll see if his new throwing form pays dividends when he lines back up under center.
